Uwezo Uganda participated at the 2nd International Conference on Curriculum Development

Uwezo Uganda was honoured to take part in the 2nd International Conference on Curriculum Development, convened by the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) at Speke Resort Munyonyo, from 20th-21st August 2026.

Our Executive Director, Dr Mary Goretti Nakabugo, delivered a keynote address on Curriculum Implementation and Learning Outcomes: The Backwash Effects of the Primary Leaving Examination in Uganda. The full paper is available here. She also moderated a high-level panel on Bridging the Gap Between Education and the World of Work.

Our colleague, Joseph Kasasa presented a paper titled: Life Skills and Values in Context: Proficiencies of Young People as a Foundation for Holistic Learning in Uganda (co-authored with Faridah Nassereka). The full presentation is available here.

We also exhibited our latest research and assessment products, aimed at improving learning outcomes for all. Our exhibition stall was managed by our colleagues Judith Nyakaisiki, Emily Bukirwa Murungi and Pius Patrick Akol.
