Prof. Grace Ndeezi

Grace Ndeezi is a professor of Pediatrics and Child Health at Makerere University College of Health Sciences. She holds a Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery, Masters of Medicine in Pediatrics and Child Health from Makerere University and a joint PhD from Makerere and Univesrsity of Bergen. She has more than 25 years of experience in research, clinical pediatrics and teaching. She is a practicing clinician on the pediatric hematology-oncology ward at Mulago National Referral Hospital, which is a teaching hospital for Makerere University. She has authored over 160 publications in peer reviewed journals and supervised more than 40 Masters and several PhD students to completion. She has a wide experience in the conduct of both hospital based and community studies. She is currently the Principal Investigator of an intervention study for infants with growth faltering in Iganga-Mayuge DHSS, a co-investigator of the Sickle Pan-African Research Consortium (SPARCO) Uganda. She has participated in several research grants with partners from high and low income countries. She is the current chairperson of the Forum for Research Ethics Committees in Uganda and is a fellow of Uganda National Academy of Sciences (UNAS) where she chairs the finance and administration committee. She has the expertise and experience to conduct, supervise collaborative research, train medical workers and mentor other researchers.
