Dr. Elizabeth Opit

Dr. Elizabeth Opit is an employee of Kyambogo University where she works as a senior lecturer of Sociology of Education in the department of Foundations of Education and Education Psychology in the school of Education. She holds a PhD in Education, obtained from Kenyatta University; a Master’s Degree in Education (M.ED) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts with Education, both of Makerere University. She is a trained secondary school teacher and has over the years acquired extensive knowledge and experience on education related issues through teaching, research and rendering professional services to both public and private educational institutions and other Non-Governmental Organizations working in the Education Sector.

She is currently serving on Uwezo Uganda Technical Advisory Committeee (TAC). In addition, she currently serves as; Board member of Kyambogo College School and a member of the School Management Committee (SMC) of Agape Primary School. She previously served as a member of Uganda Program for Human and Holistic Development (UPHOLD) Education consultancy team that pprovided technical support to district teams comprising Community Development Workers, Education Officers, School Inspectors, Coordinating Centre Tutors (CCTs) and head teachers mentored on UPHOLD’s education components. Her previous and current professional associations with the aforementioned institutions/organisations have provided her with invaluable opportunity for continuous learning, sharing good practices and partnership.
